Photography is an interesting field that allows you to explore different scenic locations across the world. If you are looking for a place that will tickle your creativity and the motivation to achieve more as a photographer, you should consider visiting Switzerland.

I am Matthew David Parker, an experienced photographer based in Las Vegas. Over the years as I built my career, I have come across many ideas and techniques that I have applied in the course of my work. However, nothing elates me much more than the new locations I get to visit. One of my trips to Switzerland gave me a reason to explore the beauty nature offers as the country is full of amazing places ideal for photography. Here are 11 places in Switzerland I think you should as well visit for photography.

1. Zermatt

Zermatt is a completely unique town located below Mount Matterhorn. The region is crowned with the idyllic beauty that exemplifies the uniqueness of the entire country. One of the reasons you will find Zermatt awesome is the fact that this is a car-free town and you will get to meet many people easily. There is also outdoor recreation like mountain climbing and hiking, which not only makes it ideal for taking photos, but also good for a vacation.

2. Lake Geneva

Lake Geneva is the largest alpine lake in Europe and its beauty lies in the fact that it straddles the French border as well as popular cities in Switzerland. The scenery is breathtaking and you will most likely be triggered to explore its offerings while also taking cool photos to keep the memories alive.

3. Bern

You cannot list all beautiful places in Switzerland and overlook Bern as that list would be incomplete. This is an old-world jewel that stretches six kilometers with merchant arcades that are lined along the historic streets. It’s a beautiful place for photography and its heritage lies in the historic art and architecture that has been preserved well by the residents.

4. Lugano

Located in the southern part of Switzerland, Lugano is an inviting village that gives a unique Swiss experience, one that is defined by Italian influence. The lovely view of the waters bordering the village will tickle you to take as many photos as possible.

5. St. Moritz

If you fancy mirror-like lakes and glaciers with jagged peaks and surrounded by alpine forests, then visiting St. Moritz should feature among your top locations in Switzerland. Photos sessions will be a bit cold but you will be surprised by what you can do with that kind of weather.

6. The Rhine Falls

The Rhine Falls span 150 meters and this makes them the largest falls in Central Europe. The most recommended time to visit is June and July when the snow in the mountain has melted, which makes the falls to swell and to spill over a 21-meter-high Jurassic limestone.

7. Swiss National Park

Another beautiful location you might want to visit for photography in Switzerland is the Swiss National Park, which encompasses an area of more than 170 square kilometers covered in mountain pine forests. This region gives you the best opportunity to take breathtaking photos and it’s a perfect spot for nature lovers.

8. Interlaken

Interlaken is nestled between Lake Brienz and Lake Thun, and this is one of the most popular summer holiday spots in Switzerland. The reason it receives a lot of visitors is because of its beauty and flower gardens. It gives you the prefect venue for shooting photos.

9. Matterhorn

Matterhorn is an iconic peak and one of the highest mountains. It stretches all the way to the border of Italy, at which point the peak rises to more than 4,400 meters. You will meet climbers every summer and most of them also take photos.

10. Flüelen

Flüelen is a town located at the center of Switzerland that offers a vital link to different cities across the country. There are several historic Alps and you could choose to move around in a boat while also taking beautiful photos.
