On February 23, 2016 Reuters reported on the fracking civil trial of two Pennsylvania families against Cabot Oil & Gas Co. The families complained that Cabot contaminated the neighborhood drinking water. Leslie Lewis described Cabot as showing a “reckless disregard” for her health and safety.
Of course, if the Pennsylvania families are successful, this could open up the door for other lawsuits around the world. Attorneys would take note and try to find more victims of this health danger. Companies would realize that “contaminating the environment would be penalized.”
